For one year between November 1, 2009 and October 31, 2010 my friend Kaitlyn and I took a photo a day and uploaded them to create a diptych – or dual image – chronicling our experiences on both coasts of the United States. She documented her life on the east coast in and around Boston and I documented my life on the west coast in and around Portland. Some days the similarities in our daily lives were striking and at other times the contrasts were incredibly revealing.

In the words of Ferris Bueller, an 80s icon and philosopher. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I use my camera to remind me of all the beauty and beautiful moments that surround my daily life. They are documented here.
