Indian Wells 2012: Andy Murray

Andy Murray didn’t stay long at Indian Wells, but I really enjoyed watching his practice session with his hitting partner, Daniel Valverde, and Darren Cahill. Though his new coach, Ivan Lendl, didn’t travel with him to Indian Wells, his mom and former coach, Brad Gilbert, were staying at my hotel. Even though he didn’t make it far in this tournament I believe Murray is going to have a great season.

UPDATE on 5 August 2012: Andy Murray is indeed having a great season! In addition to being a finalist at Wimbledon, he just won the gold medal at Wimbldeon during the London 2012 Olympics beating Roger Federer in three decisive sets, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4. Maybe the familiar refrain “Come on Andy” can now be replaced with “Way to Go Andy” or “Aces Andy”!
